Naan Bread

Ingredients:

150 ml lukewarm Milk
2 tsp Sugar
2 tsp Dried Yeast
3 cups Plain Flour
1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Baking Powder
2 tsp Oil
150ml Plain Yoghurt, beaten
1 large Egg, beaten
1 tsp Black Cumin Seeds (optional)

Method:

- Add the yeast and 1 tsp sugar to the milk and set aside for 15-20 minutes, until a foam forms.
- Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a bow, mix in cumin. Add sugar, yeast mixture, oil, yoghurt and egg. Knead for 10 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled, plastic wrap covered bowl for 1 hour.
- Pre-heat the oven to the highest setting. Divide the dough into 6 balls, flatten to a teardrop (10 inches by 5). Cook one at a time for 3 minutes, then brown off under the grill.

It takes a little while to prepare this beast but it's well worth it.
