Whitby Scones

Ingredients:Makes Six:
200g (8 oz) Self Raising Flour
50g (2 oz) Margarine
50g (2 oz) Sugar
50g (2 oz) Fruit
1 Egg
45 ml Milk (three english tablespoons)

Method:Put the flour and margarine in a bowl. Make into breadcrumbs. Add the sugar and fruit.
Meanwhile, whisk the egg into the milk in a separate recepticale.
Add the milky-egg to the breadcrumbs until a stiff dough is formed, reserving some of the milky egg for glaze.
Roll out dough and cut into six scones about 1 and a half inches thick. Glaze with milky-egg and bake at gas mark 6 / 200 degrees C for 15 minutes, turning tray near to end.
