Beef Rendang

Ingredients:1kg cubed braising steak
100 gms lemon grass
2 lemon leaves
1 turmeric leaf
100 gms red chilli (seeded)
3 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
30 gms finely sliced onion
2 tins coconut milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
100 gms lemon grass

1/2 teaspoon garam masala
30 gms finely sliced onion
2 tins coconut milk
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
Method:Blend chilli, garlic, turmeric, garam masala and onions until smooth.
Fry in 2 tablespoons oil until steaming.
Add beef, stir well, then add coconut milk.
Simmer for 4 hours with lemon grass and leaves.
When mixture is reducing add the turmeric leaf.
Stir frequently.
Add salt & sugar to balance taste.
Simmer until dry.
